ALBENDAZOLE-400 MG & IVERMECTIN-6 MG TABLETS

Albendazole (400 mg) and Ivermectin (6 mg) are antiparasitic medications commonly used together to treat various parasitic infections.

Uses

This combination is often prescribed for:

• Intestinal worm infections (e.g., roundworms, hookworms, whipworms)
• Lymphatic filariasis (caused by Wuchereria bancrofti)
• Strongyloidiasis (caused by Strongyloides stercoralis)
• Scabies and other ectoparasitic infestations

How It Works

• Albendazole: Inhibits the parasite’s ability to absorb glucose, leading to its death.
• Ivermectin: Disrupts nerve and muscle function in parasites, causing paralysis and death.

Dosage & Administration

• Usually taken on an empty stomach for systemic infections or with food for intestinal parasites.
• The dose and duration depend on the condition being treated.
• Always follow a doctor’s prescription.

Side Effects

• Common: Nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, stomach pain.
• Rare but Serious: Allergic reactions, liver toxicity, vision changes, severe skin reactions.

Precautions
